Treatment of Dynamic Wrinkles
Dynamic wrinkles are those that come on by facial movements such as frowning, raising your eyebrows or smiling.
The treatment for dynamic wrinkles is Botulinum Toxin, a purified form of a specific neuromuscular blocking agent.
It works by stopping the signal from the nerve reaching the muscle and therefore prevents the muscle from contracting. Small quantities can minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in particular on the forehead and frown lines between the eyebrows. Untreated areas of the face are not affected so you can still smile and frown, however the treated skin will not wrinkle as much.
